Welcome! Read on for more information about the Queerly Beloved Ball, a free micro wedding event and public afterparty — put on by New England wedding professionals and also, maybe, by you too. <3
THIS JANUARY, YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO…
-
*APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED AS OF 12/15/24*
If you’ve planned / are planning a wedding in 2025/2026, are a member of the LGBTQ+ or non-citizen/DACA community, and want to get the legalities out of the way before the next administration – this one is for you!
At the heart of this event are 10 completely free micro-wedding ceremonies at The Sinclair in Cambridge. They’re followed by a public dance party in honor of the newly weds (that’s you!), complete with your own VIP list at the door. Queerly Beloved micro-weddings are private, can seat up to 30 guests, and include photography, florals, and officiant services.

Not getting married? Don’t know a marrier? Just want to celebrate love in all its forms? GREAT.
From 6pm onwards, join us in The Sinclair main room for a disco dance party like you’ve never seen before (it will, after all, be a wedding reception for multiple couples!)
Suggested donation $25 - you can donate below or at the door.
*Donations on this page and at the door are just that: donations! You can show your confirmation upon entry, but please note this is not a ticketed event and guests are admitted on a first come first served basis. We advise arriving as close to 6pm as possible.

This event is being organized by six small business owners. Very small! (We are a micro wedding chapel, small is our whole thing.)
We’re donating our time, skills, and dollars and hoping to break even wherever possible. We’re fundraising to offset the costs of an event of this size while also providing our couples with personal florals, a beautiful ceremony space, and the wedding(s) of our collective dreams.
You can help by donating below.
Help us throw a big, gay party!
Your generous donation will directly fund the production of our 10 micro-wedding ceremony slots and collective afterparty. While we’ve been fortunate to secure in-kind service donations from many vendors (huge shout out to The Sinclair for giving this party a home!) there are still hard costs associated with the event. Your monetary donation will go towards party-essentials such as public liability insurance, fit out (florals, baby!), and some services from very kind people who should be paid for their work.
We are fundraising to offset these event costs only, and will not turn a profit. In the event we fundraise more than we expect, excess funds will be donated to The Trevor Project following the event.

QUESTIONS
-
The need for this event has been apparent for a little while now. The wedding industry has seen more and more couples opting to fast-track their wedding plans in the past few months. Some couples fear for their federally protected right to marriage, others worry about parenthood/IVF, or estate rights, or immigration.
Whatever the reason, we (the organizers of the Queerly Beloved Ball) recognize that we owe it to the LGBTQIA+ community to celebrate love year round - not just at Pride - and this event is our answer at the moment.
To quote Rachel of One Bell Designs, “After all, the ultimate form of rebellion is joy.” (She said it in the Boston Globe, btw)

Nope! Wedding crashers welcome! Head to The Sinclair from 6pm for the public portion of the event. Marriers have a door list, but the general public will be admitted on a first come, first served basis.
More details, including performers, will be announced soon!

We’re accepting applications on a rolling basis through December 15 and will contact couples by December 18. In the event we have more couples than wedding slots, we’ll be in touch regarding other options.
